Good morning, LinkedIn connections! Today, my book review tackles a topic that's more attention-grabbing than that notification sound you hear every time you check your phone: HEALTH! In this Digital Age, where on average we check our phone 96 times per day, once every 10to12 minutes,we find ourselves actually touching our phones up to 2,617 times daily and unlocking them around 150 times on average. in additional problem is what Psychologists who study social media are now describing as *Perfectionist Presentation* People don't tend to post on the bad parts of their day, they tend to focus on the good stuff. This creates a false reality in which it can seem like everyone else is much more successful, and enjoying a much better life, than we are. We all tend to compare our lives to other people's and judge ourselves accordingly.Inevitably, these automatic processes cause stress and heart palpitations linked to digital dependency.Vulnerable adolescents are prone to stress, depression, and chronic diseases. This week's book recommendation is "How to Make Disease Disappear" by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee. Chronic diseases cast their shadow, Diabetes, Hypertension, Depression, and Dementia's blow and smartphone social media playing a big role over the last 2 decades BUT Dr RC can make these diseases disappear, that's right. This probably sounds like an extraordinary claim but the reason for making them disappear is that they are an ILLUSION. These diseases are not the inevitable result of aging. They are not simply our genetic fate or our destiny. We do not have to suffer needlessly .The truth is these diseases don't really exist, at least not in the way we think they do. During a skiing vacation in France, my son's alarming condition took a sudden turn. Initially dismissing it as a cold, I soon realized the severity when my wife shouted in distress. Rushing to his aid, I desperately tried to determine the cause of his distress. The agonizing hours at the hospital revealed a shocking truth: his calcium levels were critically low due to Vitamin D deficiency. In that moment, I, a seasoned doctor, became a helpless and terrified father. My son's health crisis challenged my medical training and led me on an enlightening journey. I explored unfamiliar realms of knowledge, discovering a stark difference between acute and chronic diseases. Sadly, this crucial understanding remains largely overlooked by many doctors. It transformed my perspective in profound ways. We excel at treating acute diseases like pneumonia with targeted antibiotics, but the same approach doesn't work for chronic diseases. We overlook the fact that our body is an interconnected system. Neglecting one area, such as through POOR DIET or LACK OF SLEEP, can lead to problems in other areas, often resulting in chronic diseases.(Slide) ✅ Lesson: In life's busyness, prioritize your health and practice self-care. Your body deserves your utmost attention, as it's your only home. #people #health | 43 comments on LinkedIn
